Neighborhood Groups

God is calling us to saturate our community with the gospel through Christ-centered neighborhood groups.

Neighborhood Group Vision
Community Impact

God is calling us to meet the needs spiritual and physical needs of every public school serving elementary aged student in our community.

School Adoption Vision

Through you, God will transform:

Workplaces

Schools

Neighborhoods

Communities

into places where Christ is magnified and the Holy Spirit dwells.

Where Christ has led us?

Calvary Nexus began in 1996 with a handful of people meeting at a park. As our church continued to grow, we purchased land and developed our campus on Mobil Ave in Camarillo. We continue to praise God for His faithfulness as we watch people come to know Christ and be baptized.

Where Christ is Leading us?

Over the next 10 years, we want to saturate our community with Christ-centered Neighborhood Groups where we learn to love God and our neighbors better.

WHAT WE BELIEVE AND WHY

Here is a representative overview of the philosophy of ministry and theology of the Calvary Chapel movement and Calvary Nexus. In this concise work, you and others you lead will have a better understanding of the essentials of our philosophy and theology that make Calvary Chapels distinct. We have discovered how important it is for leaders and those who are following to understand these essentials.

What we believe and Why

Jesus

We’re a gathering of believers who point to Jesus as our Lord and King. As we grow together, our one desire is to know Christ and become more like him through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Worship

We’re not part of any denomination – but not because we’re opposed to them. We simply hold fast to biblical truths and leave the denominational divisions outside the walls of Calvary Nexus.

We believe worship of God should be:

Spiritual

We remain flexible and yielded to the Holy Spirit to direct our worship.

Inspirational

We give a great place to music in our worship.

Intelligent

Our services emphasize teaching the Word of God so that He might instruct our worship.

Fruitful

We look for His Love in our lives as evidence that we are worshipping Him in Spirit and in truth.

We align with the National Association of Evangelicals Statement of Faith.

Neighborhood Groups

Neighborhood Groups are a small group of 6-12 individuals, connecting people in real relationships where they live, work, study, and play. The groups generally meet weekly, and are designed to be the primary place where we learn how to follow Jesus.

I’ve been walking with the Lord for the past eight years, and Calvary Nexus has been my home for nearly the whole time. The Lord has recently placed a burden on my heart to serve and teach middle school students attempting to navigate this increasingly anxious cultural moment. My main goal is that students would be equipped with the Word of God and encounter the God of the Word.
