What is Brightwheel?

Brightwheel is our communication, child check-in, and billing platform. It is accessible via app or web browser. We will use this for periodic updates, enrollment reminders, or urgent notices.

An account with Brightwheel will be required for each parent or guardian with a child enrolled in Preschool.  It is a requirement that each person who picks up a child from Preschool must have preapproved parent permission and a unique PIN number to sign the child in/out.  Brightwheel will guide you through this process during your enrollment.

What medical requirements are needed for my child to attend?

1. Physicians Report – this must be completed by a licensed physician showing a physical examination was completed within 1 year of enrollment.

2. Immunizations – The State of California Health Dept. requires documentation of the following immunizations and doses for admission for 3 – 5-year-olds.

  • Polio (OPV OR IPV): 3 doses
  • DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis): 4 doses

Can I drop my child off early or pick them up late?

7:00am-5:30pm are the daily hours of operation. Students enrolled in the Full Day program cannot arrive before 7:00am or stay later 5:30pm.
Flex-Care Option: $10/hour (Preschool Program Only)
This requires a minimum notice of 1 week for additional childcare hours from 7:00-9:00am and 12:00-5:30pm. Pick up is not available between 1:00-3:00pm due to the childrens rest schedule. If you need additional hours in the afternoon, your child would need to be picked up before 1:00pm or after rest time at 3:00pm.
If not previously arranged:

Nexus Garden Preschool has a late fee policy as a method to ensure we maintain a proper student/teacher ratio and adhere to our licensed hours of operation (7:00 am – 5:30 pm). Please notify us as early as possible if you are running late so we can reassure your child. These late fees are per child and the check-out time on the Brightwheel app automatically calculates the fees listed below:

  • At 1 minute after your session ends – Flat fee late charge of $15 for the 1st 15 minutes.
  • At 16 minutes after your session ends – the additional charge is $1 per minute.
  • At 30 minutes after your session ends – the additional charge is $2 per minute.
